UN-Habitat’s Data and Analytics Section, the global coordinator of the Global Urban Observatory Network (GUO-Net), in coordination with the GUO-Net Steering Committee, organized the second experiences sharing webinar among urban observatories on June,5 2023. The webinar, which attracted 35 representatives from 15 urban observatories in 10 countries showcased innovations around stakeholder engagement and data production and its use in decision making processes; and also deliberated on areas for further collaboration and partnerships.

The urban observatory model was developed by UN-Habitat to address the acute challenge of city level data availability, and has over the years grown into a worldwide information and capacity-building network of local, national and regional observatories.
